Visit to J-L Colombo, Northern Rhone
The Rhone Valley is most famously associated with the village Chateauneuf du Pape in the South, however a recent visit to Jean-Luc Colombo in the Northern Rhone has highlighted the superb quality of the smaller villages of the northern Rhone.
Chateau Maravenne, Provence, July 2017
A chance to visit one of our producers is always high on our agenda and after the huge popularity of the Chateau Maravenne wines so far this Summer we decided it was about time we visited the owner and winemaker Alexandre at the Estate.
Visiting Veuve Fourny Et Fils, Vertus, June 2017
Veuve Fourny has always been our most popular 'grower' Champagne and having stocked the non-vintage since opening we have become very fond of the wines. Last month Simon and I were treated to a fantastic cellar visit and spectacular tasting at the Domaine.
Rob’s Rioja Journey, March 2017

South Africa: A trip to the Cape, November 2016
Simon and I have recently got back from a trip to South Africa, where we took the opportunity to explore some of the wineries around Cape Town.
Trip to Macon and Beaujolais, June 2016
Mid June in the Macon and I had expected the weather to be warm if not blazing hot - however we arrived at Geneva airport to grey skies and as we drove up to the Macon the weather deteriorated! Having heard and seen on social media earlier in the year reports of hail in Chablis, the Loire and Cahors things were not looking good for the Macon and Beaujolais. After meeting several wine growers on the first day of our trip, the words '2016 and catastrophe' was the phrase of the day - in fact they had had a second severe hail storm just a week before we arrived.
