Eric Bordelet was previously a sommelier at Arpege, a top Paris restaurant. In 1992 he returned to his family home in Normandy to take over the domaine, which at that point was a small patch of orchards in Charchigné in the heart of Normandy’s premium Cider producing area.

I was lucky to go on a trip to Bordeaux this Autumn. I was hosted for the trip by CIVB, the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux, who market the full range of Bordeaux wines throughout the world. The trip aimed to give me an overview of each of the major areas within the region, visiting and trying wines from a variety of producers to give me an insight into the variety of wines that this huge area produces.

As part of this July's '31 days of German Riesling' celebration we are releasing a limited edition mixed case of fine Riesling by Peter Lauer. These wines were bought at the 'Grosser Ring' Auction, an annual auction held since the late 19th century, where many of Germany’s most renowned producers from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer offer their finest wines at auction. These wines are not available via traditional sales channels.

We have just returned from our annual pilgrimage to Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia. It has now become our tradition to pop on our running shoes and run in the Sherry race, which involves running 14km around the hills of Jerez with optional stops for sherry and tapas along the way!

About an hours drive or 100km east of Beaune is the Jura region. This region is famous for two things, yellow wine or Vin Jaune and Comté cheese!

Oliver Zeter is one of the upcoming wine producers, making some of the finest and most interesting wine in the Pfalz.  From his winery on the edge of Haardt he makes wines from both his 6 hectare of vines and from his partners vines throughout the Pfalz.
