Even though Pazo de Señorans have been making wine for a mere 28 years they are now considered one of the finest producers in Spain.
Domaine Matassa Roussillon
Winemaker Tom Lubbe has always championed using indigenous yeasts, starting in the 1990’s when he made wine in South Africa for Welgemeend. To gain some European winemaking experience with a similar ethos he found Domaine Gauby in the Roussillon where he spent 3 years working with Mediterranean grape varieties that thrive in the climate. It was at Domaine Gauby he met his wife, Nathalie Gauby and also gained experience at Le Soula, another highly regarded Roussillon Estate gaining some fantastic experience in biodynamic winemaking in this region.
Running for our Sherry
Pre-Covid we would make our way down to Jerez de la Frontera to taste sherry wines and also participate in the sherry run. After two years of missing out, we decided that our first trip to foreign vineyards would be back to this fascinating region.

New Arrivals from Tuscany by Panizzi
Panizzi are based in the Medieval Tuscan town of San Gimignano . Since they were established in 1989 they have built up an estate of 60 hectares across four main vineyard sites - Lazzaretto, Santa Margherita, Montagnana and Larniano. Their focus is on producing a range of whites from the local grape variety of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, that express the characteristics of the grape and also the vineyards on which they are grown.

Domaine Guiberteau is far from unknown, with the wines being listed in many fine restaurants all over the world. For its relatively 'new' found fame the wines are certainly making some impact.
