The Rhone Valley is most famously associated with the village Chateauneuf du Pape in the South, however a recent visit to Jean-Luc Colombo in the Northern Rhone has highlighted the superb quality of the smaller villages of the northern Rhone.

Veuve Fourny has always been our most popular ‘grower’ Champagne and having stocked the non-vintage since opening we have become very fond of the wines. Last month Simon and I were treated to a fantastic cellar visit and spectacular tasting at the Domaine.
Earlier this month I was lucky enough to go on a three day trip to sunny Rioja. After a turbulent flight across the Bay of Biscay, we landed in a drizzly Bilbao. We quickly headed South, and the weather brightened as we left the mountains and enter the Ebro valley, in which Rioja is located. Continue reading
