Description
Montevertine lies in the heart of the Chianti hills in the community of Radda at around 425m above sea. The first vintage from this small estate was in 1971 and it was an immediate success. Montevertine currently produce three wines from the 18 hectare estate and all based around the grape Sangiovese. The Pergole Torte is a careful selection of Sangioveto grapes planted in 1968 which are aged in Slavonian oak barrels for around 12 months and for about 12 further months in Allier oak barriques. The 2013 vintage in Tuscany has produced some exceptional wines and this is wine no exception.
