Description
Chateau Yvonne was first founded by monks in the 16th century, though was resuscitated to life post-abandonment by Jean-Francois and Yvonne Lamunière 500 years later.
Vines range from 5-80 years in age and are rooted into clay/limestone over tuffeau soils. Post hand-harvest, fruit is native yeast fermented in foudres for four weeks, followed by 12 months of aging in oak (20% of which is new).
Earthy, peppery, dark fruited and honest.
