Description

The Thevenet family has been based in Villie-Morgon for four generations in the heart of the Beaujolais vineyards. Since 2007 Charly Thevenet has made wine under the Regnie appellation. Similar to his father’s estate (Jean-Paul Thevenet) Charly believes in naturally made wines and vines are farmed organically without chemicals or pesticides. The oldest vines of gamay are around 70 years, grown on granitic rock with little sol, this brings a charming minerality to the wine. Winemaking is done simply with traditional carbonic fermentation and with only natural yeasts. The wines are not fined or filtered and only a small amount of sulphur is used. A fruity, fragrant gamay, that with age takes on notes of flower and spice.
