Mixed Cases

Description

Set yourself up for a fantastic Easter with this mixed case of wines to enjoy. As the weather hopefully starts to improve we are enjoying fresher whites to go with fresh seafood and salads. The reds chosen are all great with Easter lamb.

The mixed case includes one bottle of each of the following wines;

1 x Martinez Lacuesta Rioja Blanco –  Martinez Lacuesta Blanco is a barrel fermented white Rioja made from Viura. It spends 3 months on lees in acacia, French and American oak barrels. The oak ageing is beautifully balance, and the wine is fresh with great acidity. Pair to rice dishes, such as Paella and shellfish.

1 x Chateau Mirande Picpoul de Pinet –  Fresh aromas of peaches, apricots and citrus fruits. The texture is very crisp with good acidity. The flavours are of stone fruits, white flowers with a dash of lemon and lime. We love this wine with any seafood and works really well as an aperitif.

1 x Domaine Gueguen Bourgogne, Cotes Salines – Domaine Gueguen are a Chablis producer based producer. The Gueguen Cotes Salines cuvée is made from fruit from a vineyard near the village of Prehy, based on Kimméridgian limestone soil dating from the Late Jurassic. Though just outside of Chablis classified vineyards, the soil here gives the wine produced from these vineyards a prodigious seam of minerality and pure fruit. Simple beautiful precise wine.

1 x Martinez Lacuesta Rioja Crianza –  We couldn’t have an Easter mix without including the classic pairing for lamb, a red Rioja. This wine is beautifully made and the oak and fruit is perfectly balanced. It has juicy berry fruit and a touch of vanilla on the finish.

1 x Sottano Malbec, Argentina – Made from high altitude vineyards around Mendoza. The wine spends 8 months in oak and has a deep nose of dark plum and raspberry – the finish is soft and velvety.

1 x Saint Pourcain (Pinot Noir/Gamay), Loire – After 10 years of experience in France, New Zealand and South Africa, winemaker Floren settled in Chatel-de-Neuvrre in the Loire. This is a gorgeous blend of Gamay (the Beaujolais grape) and Pinot noir – it is full of bright cherry fruit, delicate tannins and it has a fragrant finish.
