Philippe Viet’s Mosaïque cuvée comes from select 50 year old vines in Régnié’s Haute-Ronze terroir – Régnié’s beloved terroir sitting just above 300 meters in elevation with soils loaded with granitic sand and gravel, as well as various deposits of clay.
The 2022 Regnie Haute-Ronze Mosaique adds more complexity and minerality to the aromatics compared to the regular cuvee. As I’ve said before, this is as good as any Regnie you will find. The palate is beautifully balanced with sculptured, fine tannins that frame the mineral rich, spice-laced dark berry fruit. Long and tender on the finish, this is a wine that will finish till the bottom of the bottle and then demand a second. Neal Martin, March 2024.
