Philippe Bornard is a singular character and one of the most exciting natural winemakers of the Jura. He is said to be a purist, a rigorous supporter of the naturalness of the vineyard and of the surroundings, a winemaker who wants to dig into the minerality of the vineyard, because the salinity of the soil will flavor the freshness of the wine by attenuating its acidulous vehemence.
Chardonnay Les Gaudrettes “Second Tirage” by Bornard a Chardonnay with a fresh flavor, a certain complexity and a nice mouthfeel. The nose is very fragrant with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, such as grapefruit and lemon, followed by aromas of white peach and a touch of crunchy pear. At the sip it is of great energy, freshness and persistent finish.
