Description
Te Whare Ra was established in 1979, making it the oldest small independent winery in Marlborough. The original vines where grafted, thus when phylloxera came to the region their vines survived, making the vines the oldest in Marlborough. The vineyards are farmed organically and Te Whare Ra were fully certified in 2012. The Toru cuveé is co-fermented blend of Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris.
Tasting Note
The Toru is rich and complex. Made in a slightly off dry style, the wine shows delightful notes of pear and lychee fruit with hints of honeysuckle.
