Description
The Monte Schiavo Pallio di San Floriano is made from Verdicchio grapes grown in Monte Schiavo’s ‘Fossato’ vineyard in the commune of Poggio S. Marcello. The grapes are hand harvested in October in several passes. Yields are very low – below 50hl per hectare. The hand selected grapes are fermented using local yeasts, at a controlled temperature, in stainless steel. The wine is is matured on the lees for 5 months in stainless steel before being bottled.
Intense and persistent aromas of honey, almond blossom and toasted nuts and with developed ripe fruit characters. Textural and full flavoured with concentrated peachy fruit balanced by crisp acidity and stony mineral notes. The finish is long and nuanced with zesty grapefruit and lime flavours and complex savoury notes.
