Description
Sebastien and Magali Treuillet are two of the most unassuming, humble yet delightful farmers I know. They farm 15 hectares in the Pouilly Fume appellation which is famous for its limestone, flint clay and Kimmeridgien soils. Sebastien also has some vines at Villiers which is an almost lunar landscape of bare limestone (Cailottes).
Sebastien Treuillet’s Pouilly Fume is a wonderful example of the classic dry, flinty Sauvignon Blanc based wine. It has great depth and a tangy mineral complexity which is wrapped around the zippy green fruit. It’s the perfect wine to partner Scottish seafood.
