Description
Domaine de la Pinte have in total 34 hectares of vines around the picturesque villages of Arbois and Pupillin. In 1999 the Domaine converted to organic production with full conversion to biodynamic production in 2009. Thee Domaine de la Pinte Vin Jaune is made from fruit from their older vines, with the wine aged for 6 years and 3 months in 228 litre oak barrels without topping up. During this period a veil of yeast forms on top of the wine, slowing and influencing the oxidation of the wine, the barrel typically loses 1/3 of the wine to evaporation.
Tasting Note
Powerful complex nose of rich nuts and spice, on the palate the wine is generous and rich with good acidity with a long lingering finish. A perfect partner to aged Comte.
