Domaine Berthet-Bondet is in Chateau Chalon, they have 10 hectares of vines with 5 of these coming under the appellation of Chateau Chalon and 5 under the appellation of Cotes du Jura. More than half the vines are more than 30 years old. This iconic vin jaune wine has plenty of length on the palate, with appealing notes of spice, nuts, mushrooms, and the typical salinity found in this wine.
This is a wine that can age really well at least up to 50 years in a cellar.
Ideal food pairing is chicken in a creamy, mushroom sauce (poulet au vin jaune aux morilles), spicy food and dishes with comté cheese at the heart!
