Description
Larmandier-Bernier is a fine grower producer based in Vertus on the Cotes de Blanc. This cuvée is made from old vine Pinot Noir planted around Vertus. A rarity for Rosé champagne it is made using the saignée method of production. They macerate the Pinot Noir grapes for 2-3 days be for ‘bleeding’ the must off the grapes. Fermentation then occurs and the wine is kept on its lees for 1 year. The wine is kept in their cellar for at least 2 years before release and only a minimal dosage of 3 grams is applied.
Tasting Note
This method produces a powerful, deeply coloured wine with intense red fruit and a long lingering finish. This wine will pair perfectly with some fine seafood.
