Description
Charlie Herring is the ‘nom de plume’ of English winemaker Tim Phillips. Tim established Clos de Paradis vineyard in 2008, renovating a 200 year old walled garden (near Lymington) planting Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The unique micro-climate this walled vineyard provides sufficient warmth to ripen the Riesling. This cuvee is made with no added sulphur and spent 3 years on lees, before being disgorged in October 2017.
Tasting Note
This sparkling-style retains Riesling character with a rapier-like backbone of acidity, enlivened by wonderfully ripe fruit.
