The wine certainly conforms to the ‘rustic’ style of all the Vallana red wines. The winemaking is about as traditional as the label itself.
The classic expression of Alto Piemonte and equates it to ‘villages’ level in relation to the 7 individual ‘Cru’ from the region. Fermented in concrete. There is no actual requirement for oak ageing under the DOC rules, but Marina and Frances elect to age theirs for 12 months in 3-year-old 500L tonneaux, with a further 3 years in bottle before release.
