The Garage Wine Company is a small independent producer making numerous cuvees from small old vine vineyards scattered throughout the Maipo and Maule valley. This Cabernet Franc grows on old bush head vines tended by ploughmen farmers in the Maule. It was farmed by hand and horse using age-old methods of dry-farming. Fermented naturally, the cap was punched down by hand, and it was pressed manually. It was barrel-aged in neutral oak for two winters.
Bright cassis is backed by an underlying earthiness. Drinking now, but would benefit from a year or two of careful cellaring.
