Domaine Gramenon was created in 1978 and is located in the Northern part of the Southern Cotes du Rhone area. The terroir is limestone with sandy layers and a touch of clay. The Grenache grown organically has elegance and freshness with the vines averaging between 50 and 120 years old. Vineyards have been farmed organically since their creation and they are now certified biodynamic by Demeter. Utmost respect for the vineyards and grapes mean that no crushing tools and very little sulphur is used in the winemaking.
L’Elementaire is made from a parcel of vines grown at around 400 metres on a plateau in Valreas. It is a blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah all carefully handpicked and sorted. Maceration is done in concrete tanks and fermentation with natural yeasts in tank and barrel. Very little sulphur us used in the winemaking.
