The film ‘Sideways’ really was a bit rotten to the Merlot grape and some hollow industrial examples do not help its reputation. However when its good, it can be everything you want in a red. This lovely example is an excellent expression of the variety. Plush generous red fruit draw you in with a touch of spice from some judicious oak keep you interested.
