Maison Passot Fleurie 2021

Description

Domaine Passot is situated in the commune of Chiroubles and produces Fleurie as you would expect it to be – feminine, floral and fragrant. The estate is owned and run by Axel Joubert and Franck Manigand and is to be found between the villages of Fleurie and Morgon. There are 65 hectares in all, of which 35 are laid to vine in 3 different appellations – Chiroubles, Fleurie and Morgon. This award-winning Fleurie is named after the winemaker and is from a single vineyard. The grapes are manually harvested and the wine spends 8 months in oak barrels before release.

Ruby red in colour with a nose of red cherries and earth combined with slightly tarry notes. On the palate, medium to full bodied with a savoury first impression leading to flavours of raspberries and cherries. The finish is tight and tannic. Great with roast stuffed partridge, lamb shank or a chunk of Reblochon cheese.
