Description
A crossing of Gamay Noir and Reichensteiner. Created in 1970 as a variety that was early ripening with good resistance to rot. It launched in 1990 and is now become one of switzerlands 4th biggest red variety. Those who like Beaujolais and wines from Val d’Aosta take note.
Vineyards are northern shores of Lake Geneva.
10% of the wine is aged in Foudres, rest in tank to keep fruit soft and juicy.
Great with spicy food, or medium/soft cheese. Cellar to 5 years. Chilled in the summer so very versatile.
