Cantina Andriano was founded in 1893 and is one of the oldest cooperatives in Alto Adige. The vineyards of this region are unique to the area and they are on calcareous stone at relatively high altitude of 260-340 metres. Andriano produces wines that have crisp acidity, a unique complexity, freshness and elegance. This Rubeno by Cantina Andrian is made from lagrein. This is a thick-skinned varietal, indigenous to the region, that gives wine a rich ruby colour. The wine has rich berry notes along with perfumed notes of violets. The wine is medium bodied with gentle tannins and a persistant finish. A fine match to cured meats.
