Description
Young Antoine Sanzay took over the family’s 27 acres of vines after the untimely passing of his father in 2002. His cellar is located in Varrains, one of nine communes that make up the Saumur Champigny appellation southeast of the town of Saumur, in the Loire Valley. The Sanzay Saumur Champigny is made from 100% Cabernet Franc which was vinified and aged in cement cuvees.
Tasting Note
Earthy, forest floor on the nose with deep plum notes. The palate feels pure, balanced and polished, with a harmonious balance of supple texture, fresh acidity and slightly grainy tannins.
