Abel and his wife Maite have been making understated wines in San Vincente since 1988. Abel has vineyards on the finest parts of Alavesa and he wants to express the fruit and the soil and unlike many Riojans leaves it more or less at that. He does not want to stamp the wines with any particular style or mark of his own making other than his respect for the very natural quality of the grapes. All harvesting is done by hand. The wine is 100% Graciano and has perfect balance between primary and secondary aromas, red fruits and elements of citrus, floral, balsamic and vanilla. There is a spicy background with a singular complexity which is delicious and fresh. Pair to meat stews, game and iberico ham.
