Description
This was a stand out wine at a recent tasting, perhaps because it had survived being driven around the UK in a warm boot for a week better than some of the other wines we tried. It’s made from old vine Grenache Noir which partially destemmed and macerated before being fermented out to dryness. It’s then left outside in old demi muids for 8-12 which results in a ranch character developing. It tastes more like a Palo Cortado Sherry than a Banyuls and is said to be an ideal match to the local anchovies.
