Description
Simon S and Simon C visited a big Loire wine tasting in Paris this Autumn – they took the opportunity to unearth some amazing wines from small producers who work organically in this region.
Here is a stunning mixed case of three different wines (two of each) to showcase some of the treasures that they found.
Gael Felix Quincy, 1ere Confidence, 2022
After gaining experience work with illustrious estates such as Domaine du Vieux Telegramme in Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Domaine Trimbach in Alsace, Gael’s ambitions to become a winemaker came to fruition and he settled in Quincy.
A nose of lemon, grapefruit and subtle greengage, it has a lovely, textured palate with minerality and a fresh finish.
Domaine Turones Les Grandes Vallees Touraine Sauvignon Blanc, 2022
This expressive Touraine Sauvignon is from 40 year old vines grown on clay/tuffeau soil. On the nose, lemon, hawthorn and passionfruit. The palate is really well balanced with fleshy fruitiness alongside refreshing citrus notes.
Domaine Van Remoortere, Menetou-Salon, 2022
With Sancerre being its immediate north-eastern neighbour, this is a great value alternative! A terroir driven Sauvignon Blanc that has juicy concentration and impressive tension.
