Jean François Ganevat is one of the leading wine producers in the Jura. With each vintage his wines are becoming more sought after and this case gives you an opportunity to try wines from across his range from his domaine bottlings to negociant bottles produced with his sister Anne. Each case includes these wines:
2 bottles of ‘Poulprix’ 2018 Vin de France 13% by Anne and Jean-Francois – Made up of 75% Gamay, from 40-year-old vines grown in the Morgon region of Beaujolais, and 25% Poulsard and Savagnin from the Jura.
2 bottles of ‘Le Jaja du Fred’ 2018 Vin de France 12.5% by Anne and Jean-Francois – 100% Pinot Noir from Fred Cossard in Burgundy, this was fermented with indigenous yeasts and then aged one year in barrels.
2 bottles of ‘J’en veux encore!!!’ 2018 Vin de France 13% by Anne and Jean-Francois – A blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Pinot Gris from Alsace. After a low temperature semi-carbonic maceration the wine is matured for 10 months in truncated conical vats.
2 bottles of ‘Kopin!” 2017 Vin de France Blanc 12.5% by Anne and Jean-Francois – A blend of Chardonnay from the Jura and Riesling the Alsace.
1 bottle of ‘La Graviere’ Chardonnay 2016 Côtes du Jura 13% by Anne and Jean-Francois – 100% Chardonnay from 60 year old vines grown on grey marl soil. Aged in large wooden vats on fine lees for 30 months.
1 bottle of ‘Fortbeau’ Chardonnay 2016 Côtes du Jura 12.5% by Anne and Jean-Francois – 100% Chardonnay from a terroir of marls. Matured on its lees in demi-muid barrels for 3 years.
1 bottle of Plein Sud Trousseau Côtes du Jura 2018 by Jean-Francois, domaine bottling – Made from fruit from younger vines planted in 2000 blended with fruit from old vines (planted in 1949).
1 bottle of Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes Côtes du Jura 2016 by Jean-Francois, domaine bottling – From 7 hectare of chardonnay planted in 1920. A thrilling white.
