Bodegas Alvear is based in the Montilla-Morilles region, it is the oldest winery in the region and although produce sherry-like wines they are not technically part of the sherry triangle. The Alvear Bodegas is not only one of Montilla’s oldest wineries it is also the oldest bodegas in Andalusia that is still in production today. It is family owned and now in its 8th generation.
Whilst Pedro Ximenez in its sweet form remain the Bodegas most prized wines, the house produces several dry styles, of which this is one.
This Fino CB is the flagship Fino of around 5 years old. CB comes from Carlos Bilanueva, the early cellar master who marked the casks containing the best wines with his initials. On the nose it has floral tones with delicate almond, salty fresh flavours. Tangy with a refreshing finish and softness which makes it a very easy drinking style. Perfect as an aperitif with tapas, shellfish, fried fish and sushi.
