Vina Real reserva is only made in the most exceptional years from the best blend of Tempranillo and Graciano grapes, hand harvested from vineyards located in the villages of Laguardia and Elciego. It is aged for a minimum of 24 months in French and American oak cask and then refined in the bottle for several years before release.
2010 was a very good year in Rioja. The wine is intense and complex on the nose where there are hints of coffee, spice, leather and toast, this is integrated with stewed fruit and nuts. First notes are mellow, evolving towards powerful and structured finish. Tannins show sweet, restrained and well integrated. This is also a wine that has great ageing potential in bottle.
