Description
Established in 1970, Caparzo is one of Montalcino’s 30 historic wineries and is amongst those that contributed to the fame of Brunello di Montalcino. The Estate covered over 200 hectares, 90 of which are designated for Brunello. One of Carparzo’s strongpoints is that it has vineyards in almost all of Montalcino’s best areas allowing them to draw the best from every vintage. This Sangiovese is sourced from 3 different Estates – vinification takes places in stainless steel to retain fruit and freshness. The wine is intensely fruity, with ripe blackberries, wild strawberries and spice. The palate has a warm brambly feel, full of soft ripe fruit and persistent spice to the finish. This is an easy drinking red that would go well with Panzanella, sausages or spaghetti with tomatoes and basil.
